Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands which can be found just off the coast of mainland Spain, the other two Islands are Ibiza and Menorca.  All of these Islands lay in the Mediterranean Sea, and unlike mainland Spain are only open to tourists between the months of March to October.  A flight to Mallorca usually takes around 2 to 2 ½ hours, this is just one of the reasons why Mallorca is so popular with families.  The time in Mallorca is one hour in front of that in England.  The Islands airport is Palma and this is where all UK flights arrive.  There are many resorts within this Island, and all of them offer something different.  Magaluf twinned with Palma Nova is a place which is usually visited by the young and people who want to party.  Magaluf is full of bars and has a strip of bars, which mainly full of British revellers looking to party all night.  Other areas of the Island are much quieter Alcudia for instance is a good place for a family holiday, the beaches are beautiful with golden sands and blue sea, as well as bars which are more family orientated.
